On Eternal Mystic we are going to dedicate an entire section detailing how to spot a psychic scammer or con artist. (These are those very unethical people who will say they are psychic and try to scam you out of money or material goods in exchange for their services.) How to deal with them, and how to avoid getting caught up in their shenanigans.
Here we will briefly detail some of the things to look out for so you have some idea of how to tell the real psychics from the con artists.
1. The Out of This World Reading….. this is actually a technique used by the fake psychics. They get their clients by suggesting that they have “supernatural” abilities. Not psychic abilities mind you, but supernatural abilities.
2. Cold Readings…. the fake psychic will come off cold and unemotional, detached. This is a fake psychic. A true psychic is highly sensitive, and you have a good feeling around them. Let your feelings guide you, if you feel this person is detached, cold, insensitive or distant…. they are not a true psychic.
3. Psychic Attackers…. this is the person you will turn to for help and guidance, and instead you will be meant with negativity. They may tell you only horrific things will happen to you… you are going to have an accident or die. Your loved ones on the other side are mad at you and are hurting you in some way… and the worst ones will have a solution for you too, of course this solution will cost you an arm and a leg and take forever to end, so they are able to get richer off of the fears they have instilled in you.
4. The Evil Psychic….. these are the people who will tell you point blank, you have a curse on you, people hate you, you need to be cleansed in order to stop all of this and again will go on to offer you their services to rid yourself of these things, and that will cost you hundreds if not thousands to take care of.
5. Psychic Babble….. this is a person who speaks metaphorically, or using ” New Age” terms you never heard of or have heard but don’t truly understand all to ” appear” as if they are something they aren’t. A true psychic will speak to you so you 1. understand what they are telling you, and 2. in terms you can understand and comprehend. True psychics are down to earth people who happen to have the extraordinary sensory perception ( ESP).
6. Make You Feel Goods ….. these are the people who will basically tell you whatever it is they think you desire to hear. This way you like them and come back over and over to “purchase” their services. If you want a good friend you can do that without paying for it. A good psychic will tell you what they see psychically and when its not what you want to hear are sensitive and caring and compassionate in their delivery of that news, but they will tell you. Watch out for the ” Golden Goose’ if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.
7. Totally Psycho Psychics……. forgive the definition but these psychics are control freaks, manipulative, use mind control and intimidate, they use their methods to harm, hurt and emotionally harm those they come in contact with. Anyone who is “telling you what to do “, and ” telling you how to act” around them or in your personal life… like a dictator is NOT a true psychic. The choice will always be yours, you always have your own will and your own freedom to take from the readings what you do. No one has the right to get into you head and mess around with you in anyway emotionally, or psychologically. That is not psychic, its psycho.
8. Dependance Necessary…… any psychic who makes you feel as if you can’t live without them in your life is not a true psychic. You are a grown adult and are dependent on no one. You may desire and choose to speak with or use the services of a psychic, that is your choice. But you do not NEED one for every choice you make. Anyone who makes you feel as if you need a reading, or some sort of psychic spoon feeding everyday in order to achieve happiness or whatever it is you desire, is exploiting you for your money. You may have times when you need more services then usual, but the psychic will not make you feel that on purpose, when they are trying to make you feel as if you absolutely need them, it’s time to find someone new, what you have isn’t a true psychic.
9. Leading Psychics…… this is the person who actually leads you into what they need to know in order to feed back to you something that “appears” psychic and is not. True psychics do not need a ton of information, or chats with you to ” get to know you”. The true psychic will take as little information from you as possible, such as first names, DOB ( astrological information can be very helpful to some psychics) and perhaps a photo or something like that and of course your question(s). That really is about it. When they need last names, all sorts of information they can be googling you up among just getting enough information about you to throw together what ” appears” to be a psychic connection. When in fact all that really occurred was they looked you up, or took all the indicators they could to get a good idea of the person you are and feed that back to you. Appearing a great psychic and as they read you… allow you to talk and talk so they can learn more and more and simply feed it all back to you. I have found with true psychics less is more. When we are getting too much information about a person it interfers with our psychic field because our own intellectual mind starts becoming bias and we want to remain unbias during our readings.
10. Read your Psychic…….. Look at your psychic if you can see a photo of them, or you can watch them in action working do so. If they are in a “custom” unless it’s halloween beware… no true psychic has to get in fancy dress just to impress and ” appear” to be something they already are.
Beware of a messy unkept psychic if they look unkept and messy they aren’t working from a good place if they are truly working from it at all. Being in a nice surrounding, being clean and tidy is a great way to pull in the energy you need in order to work effectively.
If they are using substances.. drugs, alcohol or such while doing their readings, they are not true psychics.
If they are acting unprofessional or talking to you during a reading in a condesending manor or any manor that comes across to you like they are unprofessional then they are, and I would find a new psychic to work with immediately.
11. If you have paid for a service and you are not met with professional service then you need to wonder what you are paying for. A true psychic will be prepared and ready for you and your questions or session you have arranged. They will be on time or reply to your emails promptly as they indicate they will. If they are late or untimely with their responses they aren’t a true psychic, but rather business persons.
Remember you are a paying customer and you can and should demand quality services. You are a custom and if you aren’t being treated in an appropriate manor, or aren’t getting what you were promised, or what you believed you would receive from your services you have every right to … get what you asked for, complain or even demand your money back. A true psychic will work with you to make sure your experience is a good one and you leave having received what you intended and were promised to receive.

I laughed when I read this, because I have been to one psychic that encompasses all of those negative traits!
I did a reading for someone the other day, and when I gave her truthful information as an answer to what she was looking for, the response I got from her was “Well that’s not what all of the other psychics told me!”. I think in a way people are used to the commercialization of psychics and don’t understand when they come across psychics who aren’t all flash and glitz and whispering sweet nothings into your ear.
As psychics, I think we have to be prepared for those that habitually visit the above-mentioned psychics, because in a way we’re judged by those types of actions since they’re so prevalent, even if they’re not genuine.
