True Psychic vs Con Artist Psychic
This past March 2008, I visited a nice little shop in Mystic, CT at the Seaport. It was a very friendly, very cozy little shop. You were greeted with warm people who really enjoyed what they were doing.
I noticed by a sign they had on their wall that they offered Tarot Card readings and I thought about it for a moment, the prices were a bit high, I thought, but the feeling I got just from being there made me think, why not give them a try.
So, I made the appointment and was taken into this little room that had a table, candle, some resin burning, and a mural of a meadow on the walls. The reader was this lovely middle aged women who was dressed casual but no customs or fan fair, just a friendly cheerful women. She invited me to sit down and smiled as she handed me the cards, asked what I was looking for from the reading and proceeded in a very professional manor to instruct me what to do as I shuffled the deck.
She began to lay the cards out and read them to me. She did not rush or seem as if she was reading a memorized reading that she had given to the people who had previously visited with her. The cards laid out and she read them. They were answering all my questions, and she could point to each and even say what they meant and how they applied to my life specifically.
She honed in on some points and specifics that only a psychic able to could get into your energy field could have receive. For she had no previous information about me at all. We did not talk about it before hand or during as t0 come to the information about me, and it was not vague or general things, or things one could have known just by looking at me. Things about other people in my life, and spiritual life that I tell no one about were just some of the things she was able to tap into ( in detail) and specifically to me.
The reading was great and done by a professional (obviously) that knew what she was doing and never once was I told I am cursed, needed Reiki or any other kind of “immediate” treatments to cleanse and rid me of a looming negative energy that would destroy me if I didn’t. The reading had some warnings and areas I really needed to consider and look at differently than I had been. So it wasn’t all a “feel good” reading, but it was an honest reading, done by a person who cared and was understanding. Never pushy or stuping to fear tactics to sell me more of anything. If I lived in that area I would make her my sole Tarot Read reader. Unfortunately, I was on vacation and it’s over 4 hours away from where I live currently. This is was an example of a professional, true psychic.
Now for the Psychic I visited only this past week, who was a con artist.
I definitely went into this with an open mind, hoping I could find a Tarot Reader closer to where I lived. I had seen this place many times, a big sign hangs over the building and this time she was even sitting outside in a chair ( pulling people in no doubt).
I walked up and she said ” Are you looking for a reading”? She seemed so nice and pleasant that I did feel I had to give this a go. I might have paid more attention to the red flags going up all over the place inside me, warning me this was a bad idea. I threw caution to the wind and went inside any ways.
Her home was clean and tidy she had a huge crystal on a hutch behind her decorated with other psychic decor and even a picture of Jesus sitting up on that hutch. She got her babysitter to take her child into the other room, and sat us at her huge table right as you enter into the house. She pulled out a tarot deck that was old and very used. She began to shuffle them as she was telling me which services she provided and how much they cost. Mind you in the street she said readings were $10.00 (now that was changing once inside) and it was only a very basic reading that would basically tell me nothing. So, I did say I would take the $30.00 because it encompassed the most. I was lucky too, because it was her holiday ( mind you there is no holiday for the day I went, on anyone’s calender) and it was half price, usually being $60.00.
So, I was instructed to think of 3 wishes and reveal two of them, and keep one to myself.
I do not understand why I was to tell her these 2 wishes or keep one to myself, because they had nothing at all to do with the reading I received.
Then she proceeded to lay out all these cards… and hardly ever even looking at them, never once identifying one of them and saying this is what I see here and she would just look at the entire thing and say this is what I see. Mind you in the beginning she was all too complimentary, and nice. Saw a very long life for me and everything else good. Now, though the cards were revealing cheating men, jealous women, everyone was going to turn on me, use me and in the end hurt me… because all this negative energy was now suddenly around me and going to destroy me. But there was hope … she is a Reiki Healing Master ,works for 40 churches, and 30 monastary’s and a therapist to boot. While she all of 27 years old, living in a very small apartment and in an area that would not be considered affluent by any stretch of the imagination.
Though, she can do all this…. and I better do it because you see as she reads more, spiritually I am about 70 or more years old .. that’s how bad this negative energy has affected me. Also, I am behind where I should be as well spiritually. My life was going from bad to worse in all of a ten minute sit down with her, but I was in great hands …. because you see not only was she all those things but she was ” gifted” and she repeated that about 40 times through out the reading. Of course too she could heal me in 3 days guarenteed 150 %, she said that about 20 times. It would only cost me $100.00 dollars and not a lot of my time, because I would simply pay her right then and she could begin setting it all up for me. Or I could leave a down payment with her. The good news also was her actual time and healing services I wasn’t paying for, only the things she needed to use in order to heal me. Which would include white sage, frankincense and things like that, and because she would pray over them and tell me how to do what I needed to do with them it was all worth $100.00.
Not to mention during this she is telling me I have a court hearing coming up to do with money. She had heard my father had past away and now I was in for a large sum of money. However, what she didn’t know was that he died a couple of years ago, didn’t leave this world rich by any means and had no wills at all and there is nothing happening with me involving a court by any stretch of the imagination.
Also insisted someone with a M name was so jealous of me that had I knew someone with a M name I may have left there with a security guard. Fortunately for me, no one do I know with a M name, or M last name or M Middle name, that is female that is. So lucky for me that too was not accurate.
I never did hear a thing on my wishes or any references to the 3rd wish that I didn’t have to talk about. But I did hear how I was doomed and could fix it for $100.00. When I nicely refused over and over and over again, I was met with ” why wouldn’t you want to remove this negative energy from you? It is going to destroy you and your spiritual aura and create illness in you and when you are down and out and come back (because it would be so bad, I would definately be coming back begging for her help or so she was trying to make me believe in the worse way) she would not then be able to help me. She could only do it here and now. I nicely said that it didn’t really scare or bother me and I had to think more on it. That was when I think the lightbulb finally went off and she realized I was on to her but being nice about it and she began to fold up the cards and end our lovely 15 minutes of gloom and doom reading.
I was glad to be leaving by that time. Paid her because it had been agreed on before hand and I did get a reading after all … and probably would have had the police to answer to had I refused to pay her for it. So, I did knowing the only thing I gained from that reading was information and knowledge to use on just how a con artist psychic really operates, with the big hit to my purse to prove it.
I wanted to share these two experiences to show you the extreme and obvious differences between a “true psychic” and the scam artist psychic.
The scammers may not use this exact same protocol for how they con people out of their cash, but this is a good example of how they try. If someone was trusting and truly believed this is what a psychic is about ( after all the big sign out in front, crystals and tarot deck in hand …. she did “appear” to be a good psychic) they would have been afraid and pressured into giving up more money and getting absolutely nothing.
It’s been three days since I went and by now I would have been experiencing the worse psychic and negative energy experiences of my life (had I believed a word she said). I am happy to inform you all that my life is pretty much the way it was the day I went. Not better, not worse…… so her prediction there failed as well. I am living proof that these people are nothing more then good fear masters, working on your fears and beliefs to con you out of any and everything they can.
The true psychic I went to also did a nice protection ritual before the session for both of us and her area and she ended it with a nice cleansing ritual so no negative energies would be with anyone. All would be as it had been before the reading. This is a TRUE PSYCHIC! I loved the experience as well and all of what she has revealed has come to pass or is still in the process, I am glad to report as well.
Hi, thanks so much for your insight. I totally agree with you. I have been to one of those con artist type before in person who was trying to tell me I am cursed in love and trying to sell me a $100 Candle to break the spell. I just recently had a reading by someone on-line who advertised $25.00 free readings for life, but during the reading told me that in my past life I was such and evil little witch and had done such bad things, that I am cursed if I don’t clear away the negative. Price ($1,500)!!!!!!.. And the free readings for life, well she does not answer her phone for me now, or return my phone calls, and she is still working here on line I see her every day. That’s very naughty karma!… Just wanted to comment. Glad you put this on your page because I know so many people will fall for this scam.
Thank You Tami for posting up your experience. My hope is that if more people start speaking up and educating others That way the true psychics will not be over looked and the con’s will be revealed. Once people know what to look out for, the cons will soon be easy to spot and warded off, and people will not be taken advantage of any longer. It’s sad that this area in life is being exploited in this way, but people do it everyday without a thought to the damage they do to other people, or to the world of true psychics.
